Building Maintenance Coordinator

Able to come to Inspira and diagnose issues relatively quickly
Position summary
The Building Maintenance Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the mission of Inspira ensuring that our facility remains a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for staff, volunteers, and clients. This volunteer will oversee general building upkeep, coordinate repair efforts, and manage relationships with service contractors as needed.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct regular walkthroughs to assess facility needs and safety issues

Perform light repairs and preventative maintenance (e.g. replacing light bulbs, patching walls, unclogging drains)

Coordinate with licensed professionals for major repairs (e.g. HVAC, electrical, plumbing)

Maintain a maintenance log and schedule for inspections and upkeep tasks

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and accessibility standards

Order or source materials and tools as needed within budget limits

Collaborate with staff to support even set-up and space modifications
Qualifications

Experience in building maintenance, handyman services, or facilities coordination (professional or volunteer)

Comfortable using basic tools and performing minor repairs

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks safely

Strong communication and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Commitment to the mission and values of Inspira
Preferred Skills (not required)

Background in trades (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC)

Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety protocols

Bilingual skills are a plus
