Board Member Responsibilities
1. Uphold the Mission and Values
Board members must ensure that the organization's activities are aligned with its mission and core pro-life, Christian values.

2. Strategic Planning
Participation in developing and executing long-term strategies is crucial. Board members work collaboratively with the Executive Director to set goals that advance the organization's mission and adapt to changing circumstances.

3. Financial Oversight
Ensuring the financial health of the organization is a key duty. This includes reviewing financial statements, approving budgets, ensuring proper internal controls, and making decisions that promote sustainability.

4. Fundraising and Resource Development
Active involvement in fundraising efforts is essential. Board members leverage their networks to support resource development and provide guidance on fundraising strategies.

5. Governance and Policy Setting
Board members must establish policies that ensure effective governance. This includes setting ethical guidelines, conflict of interest policies, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

6. Advocacy and Public Relations
Representing the organization to the public and advocating for its mission is an important responsibility. Board members help build partnerships and strengthen the organization's public image.

7. Executive Director Support and Evaluation
The board is responsible for hiring, supporting, and evaluating the executive director. This includes providing feedback, ensuring they have the resources needed to succeed, and aligning their performance with the Inspira's goals.

8. Continuous Education and Development
Board members actively participate in opportunities for learning and development to enhance their effectiveness. This involves attending online or in-person workshops, conferences, and training sessions related to non-profit management and pro-life ministry. By fulfilling these responsibilities, board members contribute to Inspira's success and sustainability.

Time Commitment
Board Members are expected to commit an average of five (5) hours per month to board responsibilities, including:

Attendance at all regular and special board meetings.

Engagement in ongoing communication, training, and prayer support.

Participation in annual fundraising events; and

Involvement in other Inspira business and community representation as needed.
